CEYAD is dedicated to empowering ordinary citizens by providing continuous learning opportunities on non-violent actions and peacebuilding. We support movements that advocate for peaceful resolutions to conflicts and strive to promote harmony within communities.

CEYAD stands for the Center for Youth Advocacy and Development, a non-governmental organization committed to empowering youth and advocating for social justice and peacebuilding initiatives across Africa. Through various programs and initiatives, CEYAD works to create positive change and foster meaningful engagement within communities.

How does CEYAD empower ordinary citizens?

CEYAD empowers ordinary citizens through a range of activities, including educational workshops on non-violent actions, skill-building programs for youth transitioning into adulthood, and advocacy efforts promoting peace, good governance, and social justice. By providing resources, support, and opportunities for participation, CEYAD aims to empower individuals to become active agents of change in their communities.

What types of programs does CEYAD offer for youth transition?

CEYAD offers a variety of programs to support youth transition, including skill-building workshops, entrepreneurship training, mentorship programs, and civic engagement initiatives. These programs are designed to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to succeed in adulthood and contribute positively to their communities.

Community Recovery and Reintegration Programs

Help communities that are recovering from the trauma and psychological effects of the crises associated with the Boko-Haram and farmer-herder conflicts with strategic interventions around reintegration, rebuilding and reformation.

Youth Empowerment and Advocacy Initiatives

Intensify and strengthen our support to youth-led organizations with enhanced capacity-building and technical expertise on building people power and resilience, on early warning and active citizenship. Equip them to use non-violent actions, peacebuilding and advocacy to foster inclusion and social cohesion while emphasizing the agency of youth in the development of Nigeria. Help break down the structural barriers to meaningful youth engagement in governance and development within our communities.

Strengthening Law Enforcement Partnerships for Human Rights

Use a multi-stakeholder partnership to offer capacity-building support to the Nigerian Police to improve the respect for human rights, and cooperative citizen engagement which will strengthen the Institution and better equip them to handle the emerging and recurring intra-communal crisis within Nigeria while improving security and stability.
